Black and white card

I always struggle doing men's cards.

This time I have used some Tim Holtz tissue paper for a textured background over black card.

The "love" sentiment has been stamped using clear Versamark.

I have used a Creative Expressions lattice effect die .. This has been sliced in half and pieced back together again to give the desired size before I layered the sentiment over this.

Butterfly card

Made this card for an upcoming Birthday.

Background is created by using the lovely Tim Holtz tissue paper placed over turquoise card.

I have also made 2 of the hat pins These were created using some simple wire and a few beads.

The butterfly's are made with paper clay and the raised areas have been highlighted with a gold pen.

The honeycomb embellishment is a new purchase from the Sizzix Tim Holtz collection.

Fabric flowers

Here is another one of those free projects that are inside crafting magazines.

Very easy to make and replicate

Below is the one that I made with the free materials and the smaller flower is another one I made using my own scrap fabrics.

I also embellished the second flower with a simple crochet centre and a tiny button for a different look.

Felt owl

After tidying up my craft space I came across several free gifts that had come with the various craft magazines that seem to congregate in my house.

Decided it was about time and actually used them and made something with them.

Well truth be known it was a very dull football infested afternoon yesterday followed by the Masters golf... So tidying up was the lesser evil

Here's the little owl critter I made ... I have adapted him from the original pattern by chopping the felt into quarter circles to make faux feathers

I love his crazy wide eyes .....
What a hoot ...

Zipped cushion class

Tonight I attended my first sewing class at the beautiful Dandelion Lane shop in Portadown.

I had a great evening with a nice bunch of ladies all of who were learning to sew.

I choose a lovely bird and butterfly fabric and the tutor had kindly gotten a collection of piping, braids and laces to choose from.

I added a simple pink bobble to the two outer edges.

To complicate things even further we had to put a zip in the back of the cushion cover ... Obviously if we wanted to launder them..... Nightmare ... Or so I thought.

who knew... You can buy zippers by the metre...?.. Every day is a school day.

Cannot believe how lovely my new cushion looks and a zip to boot.

Feeling very satisfied

Lacy cardigan

I have made this lacy cardigan for my sisters daughter.

The yarn is the lovely bamboo cotton in "dusky pink"

I really enjoyed working on this garment ... Particularly the fringed edging which I feel makes the jacket even more feminine and lacy
