Of course we had to bring some back home to try it out for yourselves.
Boy did we have fun, getting messy and all In the name of art research, yeah right!
Better than an Easter egg and less calories, what could be better.
Thelma decided to make an angel, ever the optimist that the material would work. Here's her artwork so far, before it has set......
My projects were significantly smaller and easier to manage.
I worked on 2 different themes, a small plaque with a plaster face
I used some lining material as a base then added lace and some paper flowers for additional texture.
The second project is a representation of a nest ( well it is Easter after all ). Again I have used a voile draped into folds to make a base. Then I have added some hessian and other materials to create the stringy twig effects.
Although it's looking quite wet just now I think it will harden up quite nice.
Next step is make some "eggs" .
Think it looks more Game of Thrones than Easter Chick nest.
Either ways as it is still so wet, its looks like molten chocolate or maybe that's the real Easter egg calling me.
Check back later this week for more photos.
