Countryside festival

Well it's finally time for the popular Countryside festival at the Maze this weekend.

We have just finished preparing our stand for tomorrow and Sunday's event and think it looks great.

We have hand decorated candles, crochet baby blankets and lots of original artwork for sale

Thelma is also teaching ' make your own flower ' workshops using cold porcelain.

Helen will be showcasing her unique mixed media canvases which can be personalised for clients on the day.. Here's a wee taster of what she has on offer

Crochet flower

Here's the next crochet flower again made from yarn scraps

The photo above is the back of flower, I just wanted to show you how it was composed

This is the right side of the flower.
Obviously still have to sew
In the ends and attach a brooch pin.

Crochet flower too

Here's another flower brooch I have been working on lately

This one was made with left over yarn scraps and I just liked the colour mix

One stroke buckets

Managed to get my hands on some plain metal buckets

They just shout out ONE STROKE !
I created these while chatting with my good friend Anna in the attic. Anna loved the silver one but I prefer the cream one.

Mrs B's Bead Class

Tonight Thelma and I attended Mrs B's bead class in Lurgan for the first time.

Barbara is a brilliantly talented lady with many crafty strings to her bow. So of you may know her for her fabulous cakes at Barbara cakes which you can check out here . mrs b cakes

Tonight I used some gold coloured chain and my own beads to make this necklace. This was a suggestion from Barbara as I had previously told her I was struggling with making the loops on eye pins.

Here's is a close up of the fabulous beads

This time Barbara suggested trying a different closure which is easier for people to open and close. Again it can be attached simply by opening the chain link, attaching and closing again.

Really pleased with my first class .... Roll on next week.
