Henretta cross stitch

As you all know I got some chickens recently at the bird fair. Two lovely bantums that are now called Henretta and Smokey.

This is Henretta

Henretta is my favourite and she lives with her cousins the Sussex's at my uncles farm.

This is Smokey who is sitting clucking on "her" eggs, which are actually all of the chickens eggs, but try telling her that fact.

This is a photo of their cousins the Sussex's

And this is the boss keeping all the ladies in check.

Anyways .. It is my uncles birthday this week so I have decided to make him a special gift from the chickens. Especially Henretta who had to be given a new home recently because she was the littlest and was always being bullied.

I made a cross stitch of some cute hen houses and gave it a title of
"Home Sweet Home Henretta"
To show her appreciation to my uncle for building her a new hen house just for her.

I have chosen these pink and green colours to compliment the spare room in my uncles house as this is where the little nieces stay when they come over as they too adore the chickens. It will make a nice pretty feature .

Jennie Rayment

Tonight I had the great pleasure to once again meet the Queen of Tucks and Textures that is Jennie Rayment.

The icing on the cake was that her appearance was at a local hotel within walking distance of Lily's Craft Attic. What could be better on a Thursday night?

I honesty have not laughed as much at a lecture / talk for as long as I can remember. Anyone who thinks quilting is boring really needs to go to one of her talks or workshops.

As usual Jennie was very personable and took time to talk to everyone and signed copies of her books too, nothing was too much trouble.

I was so disappointed that the workshops were all booked up for this weekend , it would have been such a great experience. Maybe next time.

We got loads of time to examine her quilts and samples which I have to say were truly OUTSTANDING and very inspiring.

Hats off to a very talented presenter, I won't forget this evening for a very long time, after all it's not every craft lecturer presents in a bunny outfit.

If you ever get the chance to go to one of her evenings you will not regret it, she's a hoot, is very funny and very talented.

Did I buy some DVD's and some books, well it would have been rude not too.

Barbie clothes

Decided to have a go at making some tiny outfits for my nieces Barbie doll.

I used some scrap wool left over from making a pair of socks and made the patterns up as I went along.

Here is the first set comprising a multi pink skirt a white cotton top and a matching wide brim hat.

Ruth @ Papermill

The Lily's craft attic girls had another lovely afternoon at the Paperworks on the Linen Green Dungannon with the lovely Ruth Hamilton of Passion for Cards

Just loved this Canvas pictured above that Ruth made with the Sweet Paris papers, I had to buy some of these papers for the crafty stash.

This card really took my fancy because of its very unusual shape, this is my project for next weekend again Ruth made this using Trimcraft Sweet Paris papers.

The above bottle is again such a beautiful idea, especially good for using up little scraps of paper that are too good to throw out. I really think these would make lovely gifts.

The promarker queen Ruth was at her best again.
I loved this card she made again with the Sweet Paris papers.
Coupled with my current favourite stamp range from Julie Nutting this card is also a favourite of mine.

Seriously going to have stop going to her demos, it is costing me a fortune.

But as you can see Thelma and I are still smiling even if the bank balance isn't.
