Rowandean

I recently purchased a few Rowandean kit and couldn't wait to try them out.

 The first one I tried was a fuscha design, amd it even came with the srpingy hoop which was very useful to keep the whole project at the correct tension.

Just 'fly' parchment

Tried one of the new Clarity Groovi boards today to make this latest card design.



















I also used a coloured parchment paper, I think it is the teal version.

Again I coloured on the reverse using with Derwent pencils.

Just fly 2

I also made this bird and trumpet lily card using my latest Clarity Groovi board purchases.



This time I coloured the parchment using Ranger Distress Markers for a more vibrant look.

Parchment overview

 Hello again.

As you know I have been experimenting with parchmnet craft over the past few days.

It is surprising how easy the boards and grids help you to achieve a similar look to traditonal parchmnet craft (which I could never master) and how relaxing it really is.

The work on the left of the Rose and Iris designs are on A5 parchment with 2 small projects on one A5 sheet. the sunflower design is a larger design again on an A% parchment sheet.

Before I make my latest creations into cards and projects I thought I would post a few photos to show my current collection.

Rose inspired parchment

Another floral inspired parchment design, this time a rose pattern. The parchemnt board is one from Parchcraft.

I have coloured the desing onto the reverse with my Derwent pencils

The piercing has been achieved by using the Clarity piercing grid which I find very easy to use in the new Clarity border board.

The "Rose" sentiment is also made from the Clarity border frame which has some lovely fonts and designs on it too.

Following on with my parchment experiments .. again on a floral theme.

Today I have tried out some of my new parchment boards.

 I have been sticking with a floral theme as it seems to work well on the parchment as is very easy to construct a layout.

I have used parchcraft boards for the sunflower, the diagonal grid and the sentiment.

I have used the clarity border boards for both the embossing and pricking to give a nice definition and frame the project.

Introduction to Powertex - garden plaque class

Hi folks, our latest class is tomorrow in Lurgan and is kindly hosted by Sinead in Dannan Crafts.

 Athis class entitiled an  Introduction to Powertex participants will be making a garden plaque.

Powertex Retreat 2016 

Arrived in Studley again this year for the Powertex retreat 2016 ( well consdering what fun we had last year, it would hve been rude not too).

Our hosts were the husband and wife team of Tracy and Garry Evans of Powertex UK.

This year Garry has had to erect a large marquee in the garden as due to the Powertex popularity in 2016 there were twice as many tutors and stockist to accommodate this year.

LCA at the NEC Hobbycrafts

Today all the girls headed to the NEC Hobbycrafts exhibition.

Jane and the girls are shown above after their glass garden making glass.

We all had great fun taking classes and making things.

Bird decoupage

My sister had bought me these mdf bird blanks a long time ago. I finally got myself some complementary decoupage papers so I could eventually get them created and onto my craft room wall.







Really pleased with the look and a bonus that they even match my grandmothers rose artwork which was totally incidental and quite a plus.

Powertex Bottle Class

 Today another Powertex workshop, this time hosted by Sinead at Dannan Crafts Lurgan

 This week we are teaching an introduction to Powertex with two completed projects to take home.

 Here are some photos of the lovely ladies making their individual projects.

Well !!! Why have any old tissue box when you can make your own cover.

as we are always using rubber gloves I thought it would be nice to Powertex a plastic cover to vamp it up a little

Powertex an introduction class

Hello Powertex friends, hope you are all happy and healthy.

Many of you have contacted me requesting details of our next classes.

Good news !
My introduction to Powertex class will take place on  Saturday 11th June and will last approximately 2 1/2 hours and will be located in the lovely surroundings of Dannan Crafts "our wee shap" in William Street Lurgan.

Class will cost £25 per person and includes all materials for the projects and includes complimentary tea and coffee.

Classes are restricted to small numbers and places do fill up quickly because of this.

If you would like to come along you can contact me in all the normal ways to reserve your place.

I look forwarding to hearing from you all again soon.

Trace down

Just discovered a product called trace down and couldn't wait to give it a try.


I took this photo of my peonies as I like the colours and thought this would make a good design.


With the trace down paper underneath you simply trace around your design or just the section you want to replicate.


Then when you lift away there is a good strong outline to work with.


I used brushos to colour the background and the main image.


Here's the original photo on the left and my abstract canvas on the left.

Who knows what project it will end up in or in what disguise.
