Hubby's birthday

As some of you know, my hubby is a big John Wayne western fan.
This year I decided to make him a special card.....

I took my inspiration from Rooster Cogburn and Eula Goodnight.

The picture I chose was particularly relevant since my husband cannot seem to drive anywhere these days without having a grumble about somebody else's poor driving skills and I frequently pull a face when he does it.

Here is the finished result.

Belfast craft show

Wow another craft show this week, but thank goodness it is a little closer to home this time.

I have signed up for a couple of workshops

Miniature crochet, I will be learning how they make a 1:12 scale crochet item

And I will also be doing a Celtic design workshop hosted by stitch witch.. A bit scary I think, especially if she is a real witch

On our arrival we also met one of our favourite tv craft presenter Nigel May, he IS just as lovely and fun in real life

Here is a picture of us with Nigel...

And one with our crafty friend Trisha, she was totally pleased and even brought him some cupcakes to give him a great big Northern Irish welcome.

I will post my crafty makings from the workshops later this week.

Mother's Day gift

My sister made this beautiful copper holder to hold a craft light for our mum.

My mum likes to knit and was having trouble seeing at night. She had a white swing arm type craft light but this was very hard to adjust on different table surfaces of varying surface thickness. In fact the light fell off the table so many times she had given up using it at all.

My crafty sister came up with the idea of using a copper pipe to support the long tube structure of the light and then decorated it in beautiful copper flowers which she made from scrap.

The whole structure was secured in a terracotta plant pot base and filled with a sparkly black glitter sand.

A superb piece of crafty art and a really arty piece of craft.
